Are my files uploaded to a server?

What happens to transparent areas?

JPG does not support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you choose — white by default.

Will I lose quality?

JPG is a lossy format. At 90% quality the difference is hard to see for photos. For logos or text, consider keeping PNG.
