Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
In short: Fylup’s working tools process your files in your own browser. Your files are not uploaded to our servers, and Fylup does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.
1. Introduction
Fylup (fylup.tools) provides free file tools that run in your web browser. We built Fylup to be private by default. This policy explains what happens to your files and what technical data is involved when you visit the website.
Fylup has no user accounts, no login and no payments, and it does not ask you for any personal information.
2. File processing
When you use one of Fylup’s available tools, your files are processed locally in your browser, on your own device. For the tools currently available, your files are not uploaded to Fylup servers.
Because your files never reach us, Fylup does not store, inspect or keep them. Processed files exist only in your browser until you download them or close the page.
Tools that are still in development are clearly marked “Soon” and cannot process files. If a future tool ever needs to work differently, we will say so clearly on that tool’s page and update this policy.
Please only process files that you have the right to use.
3. Server and technical data
Like any website, Fylup has to be delivered to your browser over the internet. When you visit, some technical information is processed automatically as part of that delivery, for example:
- your IP address
- the date and time of the request
- browser and device information (such as the user agent)
- the requested URL (the page or file requested)
- security-related request data, used to detect and block abuse
- technical error and log data
This information is processed by our hosting provider, cyon GmbH in Switzerland (see section 8), because it is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably. Fylup itself does not use this data for advertising or to build user profiles. It does not include the contents of files you process with Fylup’s tools: the current tools process files locally in your browser and do not upload them to the hosting server.
4. Local browser storage
Fylup uses your browser’s storage only where a feature needs it to work.
For example, if you drop a file on the homepage and then choose a tool, the file is placed briefly in your browser’s local storage (IndexedDB) so the tool page can open it. The tool page removes it as soon as it has loaded it. This happens entirely on your device. It is not an upload, and the file is never sent to Fylup.
5. Cookies
Fylup does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and the Fylup website itself does not set any cookies. Our hosting provider may, in some cases, set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from abuse.
6. Analytics
Fylup does not currently use analytics, visitor tracking or tracking pixels.
7. Advertising
Fylup does not currently show third-party advertising.
If we introduce advertising or analytics in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before or when those features are enabled, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
8. Third-party services
Fylup relies on one third-party service: its hosting provider, cyon GmbH in Switzerland, which stores the website and delivers it to your browser. When you visit Fylup, cyon processes the technical server data described in section 3, such as your IP address, the time of the request, the requested URL, browser and user-agent information, and technical error and log data. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably. Fylup itself does not use this hosting data for advertising or user profiling.
Your files are not part of this data. The current tools process them locally in your browser and do not upload them to the hosting server. cyon’s own privacy policy is published oncyon.ch.
Fylup does not load fonts, scripts or other resources from external services. Fonts are self-hosted, and no third-party tracking is used.
9. Data retention
Fylup does not keep your files, because the current tools do not upload them. They are processed in your browser and never reach our servers.
Technical logs may be kept by our infrastructure provider for a limited time under its own operational and security practices.
If you email us, we keep your message and email address only as long as we need to reply and follow up.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct or delete it. Because Fylup does not collect accounts, files or tracking data, we hold very little information about you.
If you have a privacy question or want to exercise any data-protection rights that apply to you, contact us at hello@fylup.tools.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Fylup changes, for example if we add analytics, advertising or tools that process files in a different way. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
