Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, stored or seen by us.
Why is the PNG larger than my JPG?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, so files are usually larger. That is expected.
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. It preserves the image exactly as it is now, but it cannot restore detail already lost in the JPG.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
No. JPG images have no transparency, so the PNG keeps the original background.
